The Montgomery County Council on Aging in Crawfordsville, Indiana is a dedicated organization working towards ensuring the well-being of seniors in the county. Our mission is focused on Advocacy, Navigation, and Education. 

Advocacy: The Council on Aging is a powerful voice for seniors in the community. We advocate for their rights and needs, and work towards creating better policies and programs that cater to their well-being. 

Navigation: One of the most challenging things for seniors is navigating through the complex healthcare and social services system. The Council on Aging provides assistance to seniors in navigating through these systems, and helps them find the best resources for their needs utilizing our vast memebership base. We provide information and referrals, and help seniors understand their rights and options and resources in Montgomery County as well as Indiana state resources.

Education: Education is key to empowering seniors, and the Council on Aging is committed to educating seniors about various topics that impact their lives. We conduct regular workshops and seminars, and provide educational materials and resources to help seniors make informed decisions about their health, finances, and other important issues. We also educate the broader communinty about specific needs that arise as one ages.

History of the Council

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) was founded in 1950 in the U.S. Their goal is to advocate with service providers and policymakers on behalf of older Americans. Their vision is to A just and caring society in which each of us, as we age, lives with dignity, purpose, and security.
